Natural Beauties: Jewelry and Art

Good golly I'm excited to share these two items with you all today. I am beyond enamored by these bangles wrapped in exotic chocolate-, tan- and rust-colored fabrics. The materials are hand-pained silk Batik, a traditional Indonesian fabric, as well as taffeta and silk sateen.

Since the artist, K.Sommers, labored over these lovelies (she hand tied knots and sewed on beads) I'd say the price of these babies is a steal. Check out her blog, her Etsy shop, Popnicute, or visit the sister Popnicute shop at Art Fire.

The moment I saw the ethereal works of Lauren M. Wong I knew I had to post about them. All of her drawings are one-of-a-kind originals, making them far more valuable than prints. Her insect series stems from a fascination with the creatures. The drawings are done on archival paper in ink, watercolor and pencil and have a vector-based pattern background.

I think these images would make a lovely motif in a sun room or study, and they really capture the essence of the summer months. Insect Study No. 11 is now on sale, so hurry to the shop and snatch it up before it's too late.
