Etsy Seller Spotlight: Little Pink Orchard

Meet Bree, a super sweet, optimistic go-getter of an Etsy seller. She's the designer and crafty gal behind Little Pink Orchard, purveyor of decorative pillows, baby's blankets and onesies.

What led you to begin selling on Etsy?

Right now I'm a student who is finishing her business degree-but wanted something more creative as a career. I'm starting my own business call blisseventsandco, an event planning company. While hosting many parties at my house I always tried matching my decor with whatever the party's themes was. I'd cover the pillows on my couch with fabric just for the night so it would add to the mood and color scheme. I started thinking about having pillows in my house for different occasions and seasons to change around when my mood was different. I thought, "What a fun idea to promote!" And it's something I can do while starting my bigger company and that will help fund what it takes to start a business. Etsy is a great, easy way to have your own company fast and without much red tape.

What daily or weekly indulgences make you happy?
Buying myself fresh flowers. I love to make modern arrangements for my house, and they make me happy every time I look at them. Shopping at junkyards, consignment stores and antique shops -- you can get stuff for free and turn it into something beautiful. Martha Stewart wedding magazines -- I probably own every one. I love my Mac. Opening my e-mail every morning is like a giant hello, good morning Bree! Writing in my blog -- I love to write about what makes me happy at breeandbrandonsbliss.blogspot.com. There are so many amazing things to see in this world and sometimes we forget the small things. I like remembering the small things.

What inspires your work?
Happy memories, color schemes and trends that I notice all inspire what I create. I love using silhouettes for the modern and bold statement they make. I like using neutral pillows because it appeals to a wider audience. I also get inspired from different fabrics, window displays and paper. I actually keep a notepad under my bed when I come up with ideas in the middle of the night or when I'm brainstorming. It looks a little crazy but its my little piece of joy.
